Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got...
Cheers was one of my favorite shows in the 80's. I still can't decide who my favorite character on the show is. But if you force me to pick I would say Sam followed by Woody. But I also thought Diane and Rebecca were amazing and just the right amount of pretty and funny. I think some of my favorite moments were when Cheers used to have contests with the bar upstairs. Also, all of Sam's dates and his dating stories. Through 11 seasons, the show had some really touching moments too.

This was definitely one of my favorite shows growing up. Everyone knew "What chu talkin' bout Willis?" The show ran from 1978-1986 and made Gary Coleman a superstar. See the full cast here and comment below if you have memories of a favorite episode.

Push it real good! Salt N' Pepa (1987)
Turn your bass up reaaaal loud for this one! "Push it" is Salt n Pepa's most famous and played song. It gets the crowd hyped every single time people hear it and I'm amazed at it's longevity. Recently, I was at a bar on a Friday night in West Los Angeles surrounded by college students from UCLA. "Push it" came on and every single person started rapping all the words in chorus. Salt N' Pepa...thanks for hyping the audiences for decades and inspiring new generations to "Push it reeaaal good!"

80s Music - Guns N' Roses - Paradise City (1987)
Guns N' Roses was just an unbelievable band with a rock sound like no other. Axl Rose had an amazing voice and a lot of critics say he's one of the best singers of all time and definitely an 80's music icon. (I agree) Growing up in the New York Tri-State area, when this song plays, it's like the national anthem.
Flashback fun facts:
-The original band members consisted of lead singer Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler
-Paradise City was a single off the Appetite for Destruction album (1987) and was written in the back of a touring van.
80's Pop Music - New Kids On The Block - Step By Step (1990)

1985: Best intro: MacGyver
I get seriously pumped up every time I see this intro. The song absolutely rocks and just makes you happy. Can't tell you how many things that I burned and tied together as a kid trying to imitate Macgyver. Some interesting things to know about Macgyver:
Full name: Angus MacGyver
Employer: Phoenix Foundation in Los Angeles and United States government agency, the Department of External Services (DXS).
Background: Educated as a scientist, MacGyver served as a Bomb Team Technician/EOD during the Vietnam War.
Talents: Encyclopedic knowledge of the physical sciences
Preferred weapons: Duct tape and Victorinox Swiss Army Ranger Pocket Knife
Rumors are that a Macgyver movie is in the works with director James Wan (Saw). However, the rumors came out about 2 years ago and I haven't heard anything new lately.

1980: AC/DC - You shook me all night long
Wow! This is one of the best rock videos and songs of all time. This is the most iconic of all AC/DC's songs and Brian Johnson still performs a great version of it to this day. It features an insanely hot british 80s model Corrine Russell.

-Brian Johnson in the metal bathtub in the kitchen
-Biker babes with zipper bottoms riding stationary bicycles. Why are they in the video...why not!!?? LOL
-Entire video was shot in Huddersfield, UK (outside of London)

The Pleasure Principle - Janet Jackson (1987)
If you thought Michael could dance, check out Janet in her heyday! Wow I didn't know she had so many moves. She looks smokin' hot in this video too.
Trivia Question: What Janet Jackson album was "Pleasure Principle" on?
The First Moonwalk - Michael Jackson - 1983
This was Michael Jackson's very first live performance of Billy Jean and in my opinion it was his best. As the legend goes, he pulled the outfit together at the very last minute and added the glove and fedora hat at the last minute. Check out how pumped the audience gets.
Trivia Question: Can you name all 4 of Michael's brothers?

Get to da choppa!! Arnold Schwarzenegger (1987)
In my opinion, Predator was Arnold Schwarzenegger's second best movie behind Terminator 2. This classic line "Get to da choppa!!" can be screamed any time your bros are around and I guarantee it will get a laugh. Send me your best "Get to da choppa!" selfie video and I'll post it on the site. Email: admin@88degrees.tv
Who is the most powerful superhero? (Hint: It's not Batman, Superman, Iron Man, or Spiderman)
Although Greatest American Hero was only on the air for 3 seasons, it created one of the most memorable geek superheroes of all time. He would easily give Batman, Spider Man, Iron Man, and even Superman a run for their money as the red suit that Ralph Hinkley wears gives him powers of flight, super strength, resistance to injury (including direct bullet hits to areas covered by the suit), invisibility, precognition, postcognition, E.S.P., telekinesis, X-ray vision, super speed, pyrokinesis, holographic vision, shrinking, psychometry, and a sense to detect the supernatural.
